We've been a little busy. Over the past 3 months we've gone home to Michigan for Christmas, I went to Florida to visit my grandfather, and we've started several projects all of which are in various stages of completion: Installing/wiring SSB, making a teak cabinet for the AIS and SSB units, a spice rack, a folding sea table, shelving for the closets, finally deciding what to do about a wind generator and how to mount it, getting our financials in order, figuring out military retirement issues, getting ready for a garage sale, etc.
But a sad day occurred last Saturday. We sold our Harley Davidson Electraglide. After nearly 17 years owning at least one motorcycle, sometimes two at once, we now find ourselves bikeless. Fortunately, we sold it to Brian's friend Ken and we are happy it has a good home.
We've done lots of great traveling on motorcycles during those years. The most memorable was from Michigan to California on a 12-day extravaganza that started in 30degree freezing spring weather in Michigan, south to cold rain in Indiana, through high, buffeting winds in Oklahoma, snow in Colorado, 105degree heat in Vegas, to the ever-perfect climate of sunny SoCal. We also did a beautiful trip around New England. Both were two of our best vacations.
Although we are sad to see it go, it is time. Time for another mode of transportation. Brian has exactly 1 month now left to work...myself, 2 months. It's bearing down hard and fast now, but we are soooooo ready.
